SchoolCenter Picture First Commuity Federal Credit Union-- Memorial Branch:

An Opportunity for your Child to

"Learn 2 Earn"

With support from employees at First Community Federal Credit Union (formerly Education First Credit Union), who train, supervise, and help our fifth graders to run our Memorial branch of FCFCU, "Savings Day" events will continue to be operational once again this year.  At least twice a month, students can make deposits into their accounts here at school.  To establish an account, simply fill out an application (available in the office) and return it to school with at least $5.00, the minimum amount required to open an account.

On "Learn 2 Earn" Savings Days, kids can deposit as little as 25 cents, or as much as they want into their accounts.  This is a great way to help your child save for his or her Fifth Grade Camp experience--and to teach fiscal responsibility.  Even if your child is in kindergarten or first grade, it's not too early to teach "money sense"--what a great way to watch savings grow, and to plan ahead for expenses--whether it's to buy a special toy, or to pay for a vacation or weekend getaway, camp, or even to start a college fund.

"Cash" in on Great Savings Adventure!

It's fun, easy, and beneficial.  Each Savings Day, one lucky depositor wins a $5.00 gift card, and classes compete all year to win a pizza party.  In addition, again this year we are having a drawing each month, and one student who has made a deposit sometime that month in school wins a Ty Beanie Baby representing "Cash" the Squirrel, our "Learn 2 Earn" FCFCU Mascot.  Our CU theme is "Make A Splash--Earn Cash with "Cash!" After our last "Learn 2 Earn" Day this year, one name will be drawn from all the depositors for the whole year--and that student will win a pass to Splash Universe in Dundee! The amount of the deposit is not important--the habit of saving is!  Help your child to learn to save money--open an FCFCU account today!

We would like to thank First Community Federal Credit Union for their donation of $50 to help purchase snacks (once again!) for the kids during last year's MEAP testing, as well as their donation towards the creation and maintenance of RCHS Alumni Hall.  We also offer special thanks to Ms. MaryAnn Hammons, our FCFCU  "Learn 2 Earn" coordinator and leader, as well as Ms. Lisa Hill, advisor from the Credit Union. We certainly appreciate the credit union's continual support of our students!
