Joseph J. Hatzl

Superintendent

Welcome from the Superintendent

Dear Families, Staff, and Community,

It is my privilege to welcome you to Riverview Schools and the 25-25 school year! Whether you are a returning family, a new student, or a community partner, we are proud that you are part of the Pirate Family. It is an honor to serve as Superintendent of Riverview Schools and to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team of educators, staff, families, and community partners.

I have been blessed to work in the Riverview Community School District for my entire 27-year educational career and am a proud graduate of Riverview High.  Before becoming the Superintendent, I served as a Seitz Middle School teacher, Varsity Coach, and Riverview High School Principal.

Riverview Schools are focused on creating a safe, supportive, and academically challenging environment where students are empowered to reach their full potential. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic field, in the arts, or through community service, our goal is to help every learner grow into a confident, capable, and compassionate citizen.

Assistant Superintendent

From the Assistant Superintendent

One of the biggest blessings in my life occurred over 20 years ago, and it was having the opportunity to work, learn, and educate in the Riverview Community School District.  The impact of Pirate families, students, and educators that I have met and built relationships with throughout the years have forever changed my world.   I began my career many years ago as a seventh grade English teacher at Seitz for 10 years; I transitioned from the classroom into the administrative ranks as an assistant principal.  I was honored to later become the building principal at Memorial Elementary, which I also did for another decade.  Time moves fast, students grow, and here I am serving as the assistant superintendent in the district that holds my home and heart; I am grateful and honored to have the opportunity to work with all students, all teachers, at all buildings.  I am here at your service.   Thank you!
